A cute, feel good story!
Here’s a cute story for everyone! Leave nothing to coincidence! One day I was looking for native plants at Lemon Bay. I pointed out the “Beware of Alligator” sign as I was hearing a familiar grunt that perhaps was an alligator. It was mating season. My partner proceeded to tell meher story. One day in early spring, she was out hiking looking for unusual butterflies along with members from her native plants and wildflowers group. She began tracking arather elusive butterfly, excitedly watching it and walking away from the group and the actual path. They had all been told to remain on the walking paths. She kept tracking the butterfly right into a very squishy muddy area. She also thought she heard some baby birds cheeping not too far away and at the same time as she was tracking her butterfly, she FELL flat on her face in the mud. As she looked up she was peering into the red eyes of a Mama Alligator! S-L-O-W-L-Y, she extricated herself from the mud, moving backwards. She had lost her shoe but at that point wasn’t thinking about it as she realized the “baby birds”, were actually the baby alligators calling to Mom, within biting distance of her. She squished her way back to her hiking group and realized she had lost her sentimental silver bracelet. Disappointed in its lost but relieved she escaped without harm she wrote it off thinking no way was she going back there! A little while later, she was retelling her story of coming face to face with a Mama Alligator. The person to whom she was relating the story had found a silver bracelet in her barn, brought in by the crows. It was her bracelet! Imagine that?
